The online poker industry is one that is extremely competitive between poker rooms, which is generally great for customers as each poker room fights for new players to play on its site and generate valuable rake. The most common way for an online poker room is to offer cash rewards, known in the industry simply as bonuses.

When someone opens with a raise they are demonstrating to their opponents that they have a pretty strong hand. This raise is known in poker as the second bet. When someone raises over the top of a raiser this is known as the three-bet and the person applying the move is saying this: “I know you have a strong hand but I have your strong hand beat.”

Although they are essentially the same game, playing online poker or live poker has many subtle differences from each other that you could argue the two games are indeed worlds apart.

If you regularly play poker online then you will have become accustomed to typing in the chat box or at the very least seen people chatting in it before, during and after a hand has taken place. Online this can be a powerful tool but nowhere near as powerful as table talk in a live game.
